How we started

We may be the four running to catch that bus. Or the four you bump into at your regular chai-wala. That and a little more. We Love Pune and believe in its mettle. We want to do something for Pune's pristine environment and found this to be a great starting point

Plastic bags are a global nuisance that is killing our environment by sucking up its naturalness . They take a 1000 years to degrade..eat up our soil's fertility..pollute our oceans..cause floods..The list is endless

What kept us going

Pune has been long known for its natural beauty and greenery, and we want to preserve it. What started as persuading the local veggie sellers and drycleaners to stop using plastic bags has now transformed itself into a city wide campaign. An urge to do something bigger and see it come through. Give our city the love and care it deserves. . .

And to top it all...

The ban on polythene by the Pune Municipal Corporation could not have come at a better time. We recognized that banning the ubiquitous plastic may not be enough. People need an alternative . Something that they can use and encourage the others to use as well.

The green bag initiative was born out of this love and this need. The ban may take time to have its impact, but first we as responsible citizens need to change and drive the change. Many cities and countries across the World have successfully banned the plastic bag and switched to a greener option, and we want Pune to lead the pack in India.

Lets stop using plastic and make Pune a model city . . .for the rest to follow!!
